The Genos Model Of Emotional Intelligence
What It Does
The Genos Model of Emotional Intelligence was the first EI
assessment instrument developed specifically for the workplace.
It's constructed to help improve emotional intelligence for
individuals, teams and organizations in five fundamental areas: leadership,
sales, customer service, interpersonal development and change
management.
More important, our model is uniquely business-friendly because we
designed it with our customers in mind so that it's easy for
organizations to:
- Help employees understand emotional
intelligence and improving their people skills right away
- Link improving emotional intelligence to
desired business objectives and achieve a measurable return on
investment
- Apply emotional intelligence enhancement
strategies in practical ways that achieve results immediately
How It Works
The Genos model is:
- Behavior-based – involving a set of
seven skills that define how effectively people perceive, express,
reason with, and manage emotions within themselves and others.
Because an individual's outward behaviors at work have the
greatest impact on their performance, our workplace assessments
measure how often a person demonstrates emotionally intelligent
workplace behaviors aligned to these seven skills.
- Easy to understand, use and adopt –
based on how people best learn and process new information. Our
assessments are easy to comprehend and provide feedback and
strategies that employees can begin to implement right away.
- Comprehensive and complementary – we
don't just assess emotional intelligence; we actively improve it.
Genos offers EI enhancement programs and application workshops
designed to measurably improve the level of positive, emotionally
intelligent behavior demonstrated on the job and enable
organizations to apply them to areas where improvement is needed
most.
In short, Genos' model and approach helps
organizations assess emotional intelligence, develop and improve it
and apply relevant EI enhancement strategies in a practical way to
achieve business objectives. For example:
- At the individual level, we help
employees demonstrate emotionally intelligent workplace behaviors
through an assessment and one-on-one coaching process.
- At the team level, we help employees
improve the way they collectively demonstrate emotional
intelligence as a team so as to improve the way they work
together.
- At the organization level, we help
organizations create a more emotionally intelligent culture – both
by working with individuals and management teams, and addressing
strategy, systems and processes, to help transform an organization
in desired ways.
